The unemployment rate in the Chicago metropolitan area dipped to 10.5 percent in July from 10.6 percent in June and 10.8 percent a year earlier, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said Thursday.The area shed 58,200 jobs, an improvement over the 61,900 jobs shed year-over-year in June.Unemployment rates increased year-over-year in eight of the 12 metropolitan areas across the state ...

My friend told me about this - "Bring on the broken electronics - Chicago Park School and Chicago Park 4-H Club are hosting an e-waste pickup Saturday. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chicago Park School Parking lot, 15725 Mount Olive Road, just east of Grass Valley."
