Ricky Taylor scored 24 points and Omar Wattad added 22 for Chattanooga in an 83-75 win over Elon Thursday night. The duo took over in a second-half comeback for Chattanooga (10-16, 4-9 Southern Conference), combining for 27 points in the final frame. Taylor scored five points on two free throws and a 3-pointer at 2:19 off a nice pass from Wattad.
Sebastian Koch totaled 20 points for the Phoenix (13-11, 8-5). Jack Isenbarger scored 14 to go with eight assists for Elon, which had a three-game winning streak broken. The Phoenix also received 13 points from Lucas Troutman, 12 from Drew Spradlin and 10 from Ryley Beaumont.
A group responsible for forcing a scheduled recall election of Mayor Ron Littlefield has intervened in the case and will be allowed to participate in a hearing set for Friday.
