My cousin, Charlotte,told me about this.
"Austin firefighters rescued several people who were stranded inside a gazebo on the south side of Auditorium Shores in Downtown Austin.? Seven people were stranded by the rising waters of Lady Bird Lake. The group was stuck inside a gazebo near the Hyatt Hotel. Firefighters were able to rescue the people by boat."

A comprehensive plan that will ultimately bring the Austin Police Department back to full strength moved ahead on Monday night. The Austin city council approved tentative job offers to two new patrol officers, depending on the outcomes of psychological testing, among other things.

AUSTIN ? Officials at Austin Water Utility are urging members of the public to avoid certain waterways after overnight rains overwhelmed lift stations causing sewage to spill. As of 10:30 a.m., utility crews were working at the intersection of Spicewood Springs Road and Scotland Well Drive to stop the flow of sewage into Bull Creek.
